New York Stimulus Check Update: These States Will Be Making Payments in 2023

Due to inflation, individual states send stimulus checks to their inhabitants to offset the rising cost of groceries, petrol, utilities, and other necessities.

Since the start of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the federal government has made three stimulus payments between 2020 and 2021 to assist Americans in dealing with economic hardship.

However, the federal government has yet to state if it intends to issue future checks since the last stimulus payment was made in 2021.

Instead of federal government checks, individual states issued payments in varied amounts in 2022 to cope with the rising cost of inflation. The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance (DTF) distributed checks worth up to $270 to eligible New Yorkers.

California

California began giving out $1,050 payments in December 2022, though some payments were deposited after the end of the year.

Idaho

Idaho is planning to begin receiving stimulus monies in 2020. Idaho reimbursed residents for up to 10% of their 2020 income tax burden, or $300 for single filers and $600 for joint filers.
