Jenna Jameson Illness
Jenna herself posted an update on Instagram on January 10, 2022, regarding the health problems that had sent her to the hospital.
“I’m in the hospital still. I’m dealing with a little syndrome called Guillain-Barré Syndrome,” she explained to fans in her video. “We’re working through that and I just wanted to let you know that I see all your DMs and I appreciate it so much.”
The video has since been removed, but in the comments section of her ex-partner’s original post, she had also commented with an edit, writing, “Turns out it is [Guillain] Barre syndrome. I am at the hospital healing. Thanks everyone for your prayers and well wishes!”
What Is Guillain-Barré?
Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare autoimmune condition where the “body’s immune system attacks your nerves,” according to the Mayo Clinic. It says that the condition can escalate to dangerous levels and paralyze the entire body, listing tingling and weakness in the hands and feet as typical initial symptoms.
Although the Mayo Clinic notes that many patients reported a prior infection in the six weeks prior to symptoms, the exact etiology of Jenna’s sickness is unknown. Though Jenna’s paralysis appeared to be consistent with Guillain-Barre, she later acknowledged that the diagnosis was incorrect.
Lior uploaded a video update to her verified Instagram account on January 18, but it has since been taken down. According to CNN, Bitton stated in the video, “It was confirmed by the doctor after a second test and five rounds of IVIG (immune globulin by IV),” Bitton said the video, per CNN. “So she does not have the Guillain-Barré.”
He wrote, “She is still in the hospital with ongoing neurological tests. Thanks for all the prayers please keep on praying thank you so much. God bless!”

How Long Has Jenna Been Sick?
Although Jenna’s exact start date remains unknown, it is likely that her symptoms started at the end of 2021 because, as previously indicated, her partner Lior had reported that she felt sick and had been vomiting for a “couple of weeks” before being sent to the hospital in early 2022. She eventually recanted the Guillain-Barré diagnosis, although her symptoms persisted for most of 2022.
She continued to struggle with the unexplained sickness, and in August of 2022, to further complicate matters, she was also diagnosed with COVID-19. She posted a selfie to Instagram along with the caption, “Well, I officially have the coronovirus [SIC].” “Just concentrating on getting better,” she said.
How Is Jenna Doing Today?
After the terrifying experience, Jenna revealed in July 2022 that she was starting to walk again without assistance. “I wanna show you guys that I’m walking, unaided. I mean, I’m not walking perfectly but at least I’m up on my feet,” she said in a video on July 5, 2022, per PEOPLE. “I’m feeling better. I’m able to walk pretty well. How cool is that? Feeling a lot better.”
She disclosed that she was undergoing treatment in October 2022, however, the nature of the treatment is yet unknown. “Healing. Back on the mainland for treatment. Love you guys,” she said as the caption for a self-portrait on October 25.
She also provided a significant update to the story, which started with her incapacity to walk, on May 11, 2023. She said, “Update… my legs are feeling so good!” as the photo’s description. “Jessi has me exercising a lot and she definitely motivates me. Keto is helping my brain and teaching me out. Bottom line, life is fantastic.” In summary, life is great. On May 14, a few days later, she posted a radiant photo of herself and her dog. She wrote, “When you’re healed, you tell your story softly,” she captioned the photo.
