Editor’s note: The original August 2023 version of this article was lost. The Lee Daily Register rebuilt it in October 2026 from the interviews cited below, and added what happened afterward. The original described AirSculpt as the way Gunvalson lost weight and compared its recovery time with liposuction. In the interviews cited here, she credited diet and fasting for the weight loss and described AirSculpt as a body-contouring treatment for specific areas; the recovery comparison was not supported by its source and has been removed.

Vicki Gunvalson, the former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star, says she has lost 33 pounds, and that Ozempic had nothing to do with it. Appearing on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” on Aug. 2, she credited intermittent fasting.

Cohen told her he had assumed she was taking Ozempic, the diabetes drug. Gunvalson said she was not, and that the weight came off over about a year and a half, Bravo reported. She described eating within a six-hour window each day: usually nothing in the morning except a powdered juice shake mixed with water, no lunch, and then eating from about 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. She called it a very slow process.

The December interview

Gunvalson spoke in detail about her weight in December 2022, in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. At the time she put the loss at about 22 pounds from her heaviest point roughly a year earlier. She said her diet included intermittent fasting, cutting back on sugar and eating one meal a day.

In the same interview she said she had also undergone AirSculpt, a body-contouring procedure offered by Elite Body Sculpture, on her buttocks and thighs to target cellulite. She told the magazine that losing weight had made her cellulite more noticeable and that she decided to try the treatment after running into LeeAnne Locken in the Hamptons, who told her she had had it done. One of the photos Us Weekly published with the interview was credited to Elite Body Sculpture.

Gunvalson, then 60, said she did not need general anesthesia and was able to attend BravoCon in New York three days after the procedure. She said her doctor had told her the treatment could improve her appearance but would not make her look 20 again, and that nearly three months later she was happy with the results, which she described as not perfect but much better.

Two numbers, two points in time

The 22-pound and 33-pound figures came eight months apart. In December she counted from her heaviest weight about a year earlier; in August she said the loss had taken about a year and a half. In both interviews she named intermittent fasting as part of her routine.

Gunvalson told Us Weekly she is 5 feet 8 inches tall and wears a size 4 or 6, and said she had no wish to be much smaller because she loves to cook and eat.

What happened next

Gunvalson made several appearances during Season 17 of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” which ended with a two-part reunion in October 2023. She did not attend the reunion but still turned up in it: during a filming break, host Andy Cohen told the cast he had just received a text from her, Bravo reported.
