Chaney Jones drew wide attention in February, when she was photographed with Kanye West. Since then, the same questions keep coming up: who is she, what does she do, and how much is she worth? Some of those questions have documented answers. One does not.
A counseling company in Delaware
Jones is listed as chief operating officer of First State Behavioral Health, a counseling practice, on the company’s website as it appeared in February 2022, preserved by the Internet Archive. The same page names Avon Jones as the company’s chief executive and gives office addresses in Camden, Delaware, and Atlanta.
In her short biography on the site, Jones wrote that she studied elementary education at the University of Delaware and was working toward a master’s degree in counseling at Wilmington University. She described counseling as healthy for everyone.
People describes her as a model, and much of the public record about her relationship with West has played out on her Instagram account.
How the West connection unfolded
Jones and West were first seen together on Feb. 24 shopping at Bal Harbour in Miami, where West was performing his album “Donda 2,” according to a timeline compiled by People. The outing came weeks after reports that West had split from actor Julia Fox.
- Feb. 28: Jones posted a selfie with West to her Instagram story, captioned with a black heart.
- March 1: West reposted a screenshot describing Jones as his new partner, and Jones replied with a comment calling him her love, People reported.
- March 11: The two sat courtside at a Los Angeles Lakers game.

When the pair first went public, an insider told TMZ the romance was casual and not official, iHeartRadio reported. People has noted that much of the talk about the couple has centered on how closely Jones resembles West’s former wife, Kim Kardashian.

In April 2022, Kardashian said on a podcast that it did not bother her that Jones looked like her and that she wanted West to be happy, People reported. In May, Jones and West traveled to Tokyo together, and photos she shared afterward appeared to show a new tattoo reading “Ye,” the name West had legally adopted.
On June 7, 2022, TMZ reported that the two had broken up, though it was not clear who ended things, and Jones appeared to have removed photos of West from her Instagram, according to People. The next day, Jones posted a birthday tribute to West and left a comment asking outlets to stop spreading what she called false reports about her relationship.
