What meaning does the name “rookie” apply just temporarily? That was the topic of The Rookie Season 5 Episode 6! After four seasons, you’d think there’d be a different way to describe John Nolan’s time spent working for the LAPD.
However, Season 5 of the ABC serial starring Nathan Fillion won’t see any changes.
The main character of this series is John Nolan, a 45-year-old Pennsylvania native who just got divorced. He decides to travel to Los Angeles to begin a new life there as a police officer after assisting LAPD officers during a bank heist.
We should anticipate even more crime, romance, and drama as Nolan rises in his career in light of what transpired in the previous season.
The Rookie Season 5 Episode 6 Preview
The most important case of the week needs to be solved by Nolan and Celina. The DEA is called in because a lady keeps cashing checks connected to a decades-old inquiry. What’s going on then?

Celina simply thinks that the money is corrupted in some way. She appears to be feeling the strain of her first year of training, and she may be experiencing hallucinations and lack of sleep.
The Rookie Season 5 Episode 6 Cast
Nathan Fillion as John Nolan
John Nolan will revert to being a rookie. Fillion hinted that Officer Nolan will fulfill his dream of becoming a training officer on season 5 of the ABC program The Rookie while participating in a panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday.
That’s some good acting by John Nolan. He’s all set for some deep cover.

According to the show’s creator Alexi Hawley, John Nolan will start working as a training officer early in season 5. He’ll be the rookie training officer who is the oldest.
Shawn Ashmore as Wesley Evers
Wesley Evers appears frequently in Seasons 1-2 of The Rookie and plays a major role in Seasons 3-5. He practiced as a defense lawyer from Seasons 1-4 before transitioning to Season 5 as an associate district attorney. He is Angela Lopez’s husband. Shawn Ashmore plays the part of him.

Mekia Cox as Nyla Harper
When Officer Nyla Harper learned she was pregnant on The Rookie last season, Mekia Cox’s character was dealt an unanticipated curveball that altered the course of her tale for the second half of the season.
By the time season, 4 concluded, Cox’s character was still pregnant with her second child, her first with lover James Murray (Arjay Smith), and that plotline continued into the next season of the show, which premiered on September 25.

Harper is still very much pregnant and meant to be resting as she awaits the birth of her unborn child in the season 5 opener. She still comes in to assist her coworkers with the case that develops in the season opener.
Even still, many fans are speculating about Cox’s character’s apparent baby bump and whether or not the actress was expecting when shooting the fifth season.
Lisseth Chavez as Celina Juarez
First official trainee for Nolan. On The Rookie Season 5, Celina Juarez soon made an impression. Where have you seen the actress before, and who plays the role?
Celina Juarez left an immediate, unfavorable impression on the LAPD. Although she is ready to work, she is also a hot mess, and these two characteristics don’t often go together. But they have been successful in the past. Look at Lucy, who appeared to be a hot mess at the start of the series but has her life together now (most of the time).
The position of Nolan’s first apprentice has been filled by Lisseth Chavez. She is a guest star as of right now, but she might become a series regular. Everything depends on how Nolan’s situation plays out in the upcoming episodes. Initially a guest star, Jenna Dewan later became a series regular.
Alyssa Diaz as Angela Lopez
The 45-year-old John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) in Alexi Hawley’s 2018 police procedural “The Rookie” shifts careers to pursue his dream of joining the Los Angeles Police Department, making him the oldest rookie cop in history. Based on the real life of William Norcross, the television series also features Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, and Eric Winter.

The actress who plays ambitious LAPD officer (and subsequently detective) Alyssa Diaz, Angela Lopez, is another talent that is prominently displayed in each episode. Since beginning her career in acting in 2001, Diaz has racked up almost 50 credits in movies, shows, and music videos, including another cameo as Detective Lopez in a yet-to-air spinoff of “The Rookie”. She has been in the public eye for a long time because several of her media appearances were for lengthy television broadcasts.
Kanoa Goo as Chris Sanford
What happened between “Dim” and “Juicy” in Vegas on Sunday night’s Season 5 opener of The Rookie did not stay in Vegas for Tim and Lucy.
Sergeant Bradford (played by Eric Winter) and Officer Chen (Melissa O’Neil) were each prodded by confidantes (Lopez, Tamara) to explain any true feelings building beneath the surface before continuing their undercover interaction as a thug and his moll.
They later exchanged another passionate, drawn-out, “fake” kiss to promote Dim and Juicy’s Mile High Club antics while traveling to Vegas in a drug dealer’s pajamas. After their convincing “practice” kiss, Tim even checked in with Lucy to see how she might be feeling, but Lucy dismissed it as the natural result of an intimate act.
Richard T. Jones as Wade Grey
Naturally, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Grey in peril; if there is any cause for optimism over his future, that is probably it. Doing it twice would be a lot because the show already murdered a significant character in Jackson West at the beginning of the season.
We’re hoping that this is the kind of thing that will prompt Nolan and the rest of the team to take action, so be prepared with tissues just in case. They will exert every effort to see that justice is done.
Melissa O’Neil as Lucy Chen
Lucy has a big job opportunity coming up, it has been revealed. She can enroll in a prestigious Sacramento program that will prepare her for some important tasks in the future.
Lucy, who cares about justice, would benefit from working as an undercover investigator. But does she want to be in this position? She seemed to be waffling about the appropriate course of action at this time. It’s tough to predict Lucy’s true next action because she’s undecided.
Bridget Regan as Monica
In addition to Josh Harnett, Nick Nolte, and Barbara Hershey in the lead role of Frances Forsythe, Bridget Regan recently wrapped up filming the new limited drama series Paradise Lost. For five seasons, she played the antagonist Rose, a.k.a. Sin Rostro, in the Golden Globe-nominated series Jane the Virgin.
Make sure to tune into 'The Rookie' (ABC) tonight at 10/9c to catch Bridget Regan making a guest appearance as 'Monica'!

Carsyn Rose as Lila Town
American actress Carsyn Rose, age 11, was born in San Francisco, California, on March 24, 2011. Carsyn is well-known for her roles in several films, including The Big Show Show (Lucy, 2020), The Rookie (Lila Town, 2019–2022), and Amber Brown (Amber Brown, 2022).
Tru Valentino as Aaron Thorsen
Tru Valentino portrays Aaron Thorsen, a character that appears frequently in season four of The Rookie and who also plays a major role in season five. His training officer in Season 4 was Detective Nyla Harper, and his badge number is 14483.
John Nolan aids in completing his training before he is promoted to Police Officer II in “Dye Hard” in Season 5, following Harper’s maternity leave. The call number for Thorsen and Harper was 7-Adam-19. He makes his debut in “Five Minutes,” the second episode of season four.
Eric Winter as Tim Bradford
Eric Winter portrays Tim Bradford, a major character on The Rookie. He was Lucy Chen’s training officer until Lucy was promoted in the episode “Amber” and is now assigned to the Mid-Wilshire Division. Bradford revealed during a phone call in the episode “Casualties” that his badge number from Seasons 1-3 was 34831.
Couldn’t imagine anyone else besides Melissa O’Neil as Lucy Chen and Eric Winter as Tim Bradford since their chemistry/offscreen friendship quite literally made #Chenford into the ship it is today so 🙌 https://t.co/2RLXB4cfwH pic.twitter.com/UwaoHvsYIk

His position changes to Patrol Field Supervisor and his badge number to 3483 after he is promoted to Sergeant I in Season 4. The 7-Adam-19 beats were often covered by Bradford and Chen.
Final Lines
the sixth episode of season five of The Rookie wasn’t as entertaining an hour as one might have anticipated for this program and Halloween.
The cast of The Rookie includes Eric Winter, Richard T. Jones, Mercedes Mason, Melissa O’Neil, Afton Williamson, Mekia Cox, and Nathan Fillion.
