Nick Kici and Jawahir Khalifa are the winners of “Too Hot to Handle” season 4. The final five episodes of Netflix’s reality dating show arrived on Dec. 14, and the finale ended with the pair taking home what was left of the prize fund.
How this season worked
Ten singles arrived at a villa in the Caribbean believing they had signed up for a show called “Wild Love,” hosted by Mario Lopez, Netflix’s Tudum explained. The real host turned out to be Lana, a cone-shaped talking robot, and contestants risked losing $200,000 if they had sex. The prize fund started at $200,000, and each time someone was caught in someone else’s arms, the total went down.
The opening cast was Brittan, Jawahir, Creed, Dominique, Seb, Nigel, Kayla, James, Nick and Sophie. Netflix released the season in two batches: five episodes on Dec. 7 and the remaining five on Dec. 14, for 10 in total, What’s on Netflix reported. Other contestants, among them Flavia Urbina, Imogen Ewan and Shawn Wells, were not in that opening lineup but also feature in the season, Yahoo News Canada noted.
The final two couples
Two pairs made it to the end: Nick and Jawahir, and Kayla Richart and Sebastian “Seb” Melrose. The cast members voted for the winners and chose Nick and Jawahir, Netflix’s Tudum reported.
Kayla and Seb had a costly season. Yahoo News Canada reported that they broke the most rules of any pair, including an incident in a shower that cost the group $50,000. Other storylines included Brittan and James as a couple, and Creed McKinnon caught between Flavia and Imogen.
How much they won
After all the deductions, Nick and Jawahir won $89,000, Yahoo News Canada reported. That is less than half of the $200,000 the group could have shared at the start.
What happened next
Two weeks after the finale, Netflix checked in with the couples. Tudum reported on Dec. 28, 2022 that Nick and Jawahir, who goes by Jawa, had split up and were both single. Nick said they had lived together in London and Bali for seven months. Jawahir said she remains grateful for the relationship, and Nick said it taught him patience and communication.
The runners-up were still together at that point. Tudum said Kayla and Seb were in a long-distance relationship, with Seb in Scotland and Kayla in Los Angeles. The two described it as complicated, and Seb said they speak every day.
