A supporter who decided to immortalize his idol Lionel Messi with a forehead tattoo now has second thoughts. Mr. Jambs claimed he received several death threats and online harassment because of the tattoo.
Following Argentina’s historic 2022 FIFA World Cup victory, Messi’s legions of adoring fans have started immortalizing the football icon with tattoos of his likeness and name. Colombian social media personality Mike Jambs is a Messi admirer who was so inspired by the news that he got the name tattooed in large letters over his forehead.
He has now stated, however, that he has come to regret the decision, especially in light of the criticism his new appearance has received on social media. Mike Jambs, an Instagram influencer, posted a video in which he acknowledged that perhaps having the tattoo wasn’t the finest decision he’s ever had.
Instead of bringing me good fortune, getting the tattoo has resulted in a lot of trouble for me and my loved ones. He said in Spanish: “I didn’t imagine I’d be saying this so quickly and I felt quite pleased with what I’d done in the first few days, but I now wish I hadn’t done it.” The footage was published by Metro.

Mr. Jambs claims that he received a lot of hate mail and comments after having the tattoo, with many people accusing him of using it as a cheap publicity stunt on social media. Some people found it to be completely ludicrous and stupid. He had spoken out in defense of the artwork, saying, “I’m not harming anyone, I’m not doing anything illegal.”

The influencer had previously posted a video of himself receiving the tattoo on December 21, 2022. With the words ”Fulfilling the challenge. I LOVE YOU @leomessi.”
Metro reports that after his tale went viral, he was featured on Argentine television and questioned about the backlash he had gotten for having the tattoo. As he informed the interviewers, ”I don’t care what others think.”
He said, “If it’s my life, it’s my body, and I’m not hurting anyone, then why am I treated unfairly, why am I criticized, why am I judged?” Why more is expected of an “influencer” than of a politician, I don’t know. It baffles me that only idiotic things become viral while useful, uplifting information goes unseen, unshared, and unmade. Mr. Jambs calls himself a “digital creative” and has over 1.4 million Instagram followers.
