There is no other way to describe Tokyo Revengers other than the best there is. The series has established an indelible reputation among anime fans, earning recognition as a best-selling manga and several accolades across multiple categories. There are several reasons why Tokyo Revengers is so well-liked, but maybe the most important is that it popularised the idea of street gangs and introduced us to the hardcore warriors of anime.
Because series creator Ken Wakui hung out with street gangs during his high school years, the series’ depiction of street gangs and their struggles is so realistic. Every major character in the series has superhuman abilities, but these guys are leagues ahead of the rest.
Shuji Hanma
Shuji Hanma is most accurately described as a sadist. He will do everything, even if it means risking someone else’s life, to break the monotony. He gets along well with Tetta Kisaki, the series’ biggest manipulator because he enjoys watching the other side of Kisaki’s schemes unfold. Hanma doesn’t give a hoot about his survival.
Having been the most powerful member of gangs like Moebius, Valhalla, and Tenjiku, Shuji Hanma’s physical prowess is undeniable. His greatest strength, though, is his remarkable stamina. Draken also referred to him as a zombie for the same reason. He battled Draken and Mikey separately, and he lived through several battles.
Hakkai Shiba
Hakkai is rarely discussed throughout the series, even though he possesses fighting prowess that would put anyone to shame. Vice-Captain of the Tokyo Manji Gang’s Second Division. Hakkai is a loyal member of his crew and would do anything to protect his friends and family, despite his icy exterior.
In numerous scenes, he is seen fighting with Toman and single-handedly defeating groups of foes. Most of Hakkai’s opponents are vulnerable to a single blow from him. In addition, he has a more powerful older brother who is the polar opposite of himself.

Taiju Shiba
Taiju Shiba, the older brother of Hakkai Shiba, comes up next; talks about dealing with the devil. Taiju is cruel and shows no mercy to anyone, not even his siblings. What a paradox, considering how regularly he attends religious services. His supporters put their faith in him since he possesses all the qualities of a good leader.
The fact that Taiju was able to teach the 10th Generation of the Black Dragon gang shows just how formidable he is. Taiju is one of the select few who have managed to avoid being knocked out by Mikey’s trademark kick. Mikey took the punch on purpose, yet he’s the only person to ever knock him out with a single blow.
Keisuke Baji
Baji, a founding member of Toman, was first presented as a villain but eventually revealed to have a good heart. He was so dedicated to protecting Toman and his companions that he pretended to be an enemy. Baji, along with Takemichi, is the only one who can see Kisaki for who he is; this speaks much about Baji’s intelligence.
In what ways does Keisuke Baji excel? Despite taking a knife to the back, he still managed to take out fifty Valhalla warriors. He proved his worth by making it thus far before collapsing from blood loss after a valiant effort. His heroics in protecting Chifuyu from her assailants while still, a teenager proved that he had always been a tough cookie.
Takashi Mitsuya
Takashi Mitsuya is like a placid lake in a city full of angry, hostile, and pessimistic people in the manga and anime Tokyo Revengers. His presence alone could bring peace to any situation. Although Mitsuya would try to avoid fights wherever possible, he wouldn’t think twice about annihilating his foes if the situation demanded it.
Takashi Mitsuya, like every other Toman founder, would gladly lay down his life for the sake of the gang and his companions. In many encounters, he was shown giving it his best and single-handedly defeating teams of opponents. Mitsuya didn’t black out when he was struck in the head with a rod; in fact, word of his fighting prowess has spread throughout the gang.
Izana Kurokawa
Even though Izana plays the darkest role in Tokyo Revengers, his pleasant demeanor and frail appearance give him the impression of a carefree teenager. The weight of his history had a profound enough effect on him to render him unstable; today, he would do everything to increase his position in authority.
Tenjiku’s leader and the eighth generation Black Dragon was named Izana. It was impossible to question his prowess in battle, but what truly made him dangerous was his ability to read his opponents’ thoughts and plan accordingly. Izana, the strongest man in Tenjiku, could hold his own against Mikey in a battle.
Senju Kawaragi
In contrast to the series’ delicate female protagonists, like Hina and Emma, Senju is a prodigy of strength and might. Senju was the boss of the Brahman gang and one of Kanto’s Three Deities until he joined the Tokyo Manji Gang. Senju has all the traits necessary to be an excellent leader, but she was ultimately toppled by her brother, who wished to steer the gang in a more sinister direction.
Senju may be diminutive in stature, but she puts her petite frame to good use by employing acrobatic moves and fighting styles in combat. When she combines her superhuman strength with her lightning-fast reflexes, she becomes practically unstoppable. Toman and Brahman’s top player was able to stand tall thanks to her incredible strength.
South Terano
Rokuhara Tandai gang boss South Terano was the primary opponent of the Three Deities Arc. Despite having only made his debut in chapter 207 of the manga, his tyrannical manner and cruel tendencies quickly made him a fan favorite. Everyone dreaded him because of his short temper and a brazen willingness to kill.
Draken was dwarfed by South’s massive frame, and South’s abilities were on par with his size. A normal combatant might be knocked out with one hit from him. Senju was defeated by him in a one-on-one encounter during the Battle of the Three Deities, but Mikey quickly lost his temper and made Senju taste dirt.

Ken Ryuguji
Draken, aka Ken Ryuguyi, is the second most powerful person in Tokyo Revengers. He’s been with Toman since the beginning and now serves as the gang’s vice president. You might probably pick Draken as the sanest Toman. Although he avoids public displays of affection, he would sacrifice everything to protect his family.
Draken has been through a lot, including a terrible knife wound and taking a brutal strike from a metal rod, but it hasn’t stopped him from being a monster in the ring. His fists and feet are so powerful that they can send the enormous South Terano flying. Now it’s just another day in the park to see him take out a gang single-handedly.
Manjiro Sano
The fact that Mikey is number one on the list is hardly shocking. There is good cause for his nickname, “Invincible Mikey,” as he is unbeatable in a boxing match. Mikey’s intensity in a battle changes the dynamic of the situation, to the point where not even his best friend, Draken, can stop him.
Mikey usually wins by kicking his opponent out of the ring. Mikey knocked out his opponent with a single headbutt despite taking multiple blows from the rod. He picked up the guy who was grabbing onto his leg, then he used that same leg to knock out the other guy. Draken, Peh-yan, Chifuyu, and Mitsuya all joined forces, but Mikey was still too strong.
Fans can now watch the live-action Tokyo Revengers movie on Crunchyroll. The company announced that the first movie in the series is now on its streaming platform.
