The Marvels First Trailer
The Marvels, the follow-up to 2019’s “Captain Marvel,” features Brie Larson once more in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This time, Larson is joined in the spotlight by female MCU stars Teyonah Parris from “WandaVision” and Iman Vellani from “Ms. Marvel.”
After the Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel,” which introduced Vellani as Kamala Khan, a.k.a. the young New Jersey superhero Ms. Marvel, comes to the eagerly awaited continuation of Carol Danvers’ origin story. The first look at the movie “The Marvels” was only shown to panel attendees at the 2022 D23 Expo before the first trailer for the movie was released.

The first clip sheds light on what happened after the “Ms. Marvel” post-credits scene, in which Kamala appeared to switch places with Carol. Shortly after, the “The Marvels” teaser resumed with Captain Monica Rambeau (Parris) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) serving as astronauts for the Saber Space Station.
Monica transforms into Ms. Marvel when she reaches a point in the space-time continuum, proving that she, Carol, and Kamala all possess a special set of transformative abilities. Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, has reclaimed her identity from the oppressive Kree and exacted revenge on the Supreme Intelligence, according to the official “The Marvels” synopsis from Marvel Studios.
However, unintended consequences force Carol to bear the weight of a universe in disarray. Her powers combine with those of Jersey City superfan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau, when her duties take her to an anomalous wormhole connected to a Kree revolutionary. To save the universe, this unlikely trio will need to come together and learn how to cooperate.
Director Nia DaCosta will make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut with “The Marvels” after directing the 2021 “Candyman” reboot; this accomplishment makes her the first Black woman and fourth woman to direct a movie in the MCU. The film’s screenplay was co-written by DaCosta, Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells.
Park Seo-Joon, a South Korean actor best known for his work in “Parasite” and the TV show “Itaewon Class,” also appears in the movie. Saagar Shaikh, Zenoiba Shroff, and Mohan Kapur, who play Kamala’s older brother, mother, and father, respectively, are also confirmed cast members, along with Zawe Ashton, who will play an unnamed villain. The beloved Flerken Goose will also make a comeback on screen.
“The Marvels” premieres in theaters on November 10, 2023, following a postponement from this summer. Below is a link to the official trailer.
