Victor was upset, but they made up, and they’ve been closest friends ever since. Rahim, the show’s primary character, is portrayed by Anthony Keyvan in one of the show’s best performances.

The Role of Anthony Keyvan in ‘Love, Victor’ Attracted Attention to His S*xual Orientation
With his portrayal of Rahim in the Hulu series, Keyvan captured the hearts of many viewers. The actor, who is of Iranian and Filipino-American origin, was proud to best represent his country.
“After playing the role, fans began questioning Keyvan’s s*xual orientation, particularly on the Reddit platform. Some speculated Keyvan’s queerness.”
Despite having grown up in the US, Keyvan is proud of his mixed race. He is conscious of the rarity of roles for people of his nationality. Keyvan acknowledged that he has never encountered an Iranian component throughout his career during an interview with Poptized. Added him:
“It’s always, you know, ‘looking for Middle Eastern or Hispanic or Caucasian,’ whatever I can fit in because I do look ambiguous. I can look like other people, but I’ve never, ever played a role that was authentically representing my heritage.”
In addition to honoring his Iranian ancestry, Keyvan did an amazing job portraying a g@y Muslim in “Love, Victor,” which, according to Pride, rescued the show’s second season. Rahim struggles to accept his s*xuality on film because of his religious beliefs and his parent’s expectations.
“While Keyvan has accepted several LGBTQ+ characters, he doesn’t openly discuss his orientation. However, he does share cute photos with other male actors on his Instagram account, often his co-stars in series.”
By the sixth episode, he becomes more confident in who he is but struggles to communicate with his Muslim parents. Rahim ultimately chooses to conceal his s*xuality from them.
After playing the part, admirers started to speculate about Keyvan’s s*xual orientation, especially on the Reddit website. While some have suggested Keyvan is g@y, others think the actor is straight. One Reddit user criticized others who speculated on Keyvan’s s*xual orientation, calling it impolite.
Rahim is an interesting LGBTQ+ character that Keyvan has landed on television. In the upcoming Netflix series “XO Kitty,” Keyvan will also play the openly g@y Iranian-Filipino Quincy “Q” Shabazian.
