A Feast for Stealth Fans: Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Announced!

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will be remade after months of speculation. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is the new name for it. The project was announced during the PlayStation Showcase on Wednesday.

According to a press statement from Konami, it will debut on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC through Steam. In addition to this new game, the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection: Volume 1 compilation includes re-releasing the original three MGS games: Metal Gear Solid, Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Snake Eater.

Metal Gear Official shared a post on Twitter:-

It is planned for release on PS5 this fall. According to a press statement from Konami, the versions of Sons of Liberty and Snake Eater in this collection will be the ones from the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.

Most people agree that Metal Gear Solid 3, or MGS3, is among the greatest stealth action games ever created. The precursor to earlier games in the series, first published in 2004 for the PlayStation 2, follows protagonist Snake as he sneaks into a Soviet military installation in the remote Russian tundra.

The Xbox official account published a tweet:

MGS3 was more of a low-tech game, with a focus on employing camouflage to conceal in each location and, of course, hunting down forest creatures like snakes to keep your stamina levels topped off, as opposed to earlier games in the franchise that are full of high-tech devices and weapons.

According to Konami’s press release, this new game will be a “faithful remake” it will have “the original voice characters, rich storyline, and expansive features of combat survival in harsh environments evolved with unprecedented graphics and immersive sound.”

There have long been rumors that Konami is bringing back MGS3. Remakes of the game’s other significant properties, Silent Hill and Castlevania, were also in the works, according to VGC in 2021.

Although the Castlevania project hasn’t been officially confirmed, Konami unveiled the brand-new Silent Hill F and a remake of Silent Hill 2 last year.

Beyond 2018’s lackluster Metal Gear Survive, the Metal Gear brand has remained inactive since series creator Hideo Kojima’s high-profile divorce from Konami in 2015.

There are a little under a dozen mainstream games in the Metal Gear franchise, starting with 1987’s Metal Gear for the MSX2 and ending with 2015’s Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, depending on which games you accept as canon (which isn’t an easy process for many reasons).
