Silo Season 1 Finale Recap

The last episode picks up right where the last one left off, with Jules, Patrick, and Danny watching the movie on the hard drive. Jules asks Danny to find a way to send the movie to every computer on every level.

Danny suggests that they connect the hard drive to the signal boosters, which are on every 30th floor. Realizing that Bernard is smart and would be able to track them down, the three of them run away just as the raiders are about to catch up with them.

The three of them go down the trash slide until they reach the level with the signal boosters. They connect the drive to the boosters, and Patrick destroys one of the cameras on the floor so that the people in the monitoring room can not figure out where they are. Everyone in the monitoring room is surprised when the video from the drive plays on all of the screens. But Bernard tells everyone, including Sims, to close their eyes quickly before he turns it off.

Then Bernard sees that Jules is moving around by using the trash chute, so he tells his people to get her out. They start tossing things down the chute once they have collected things from the recycling bin. Jules is able to avoid some of the units, but when they throw in a big one, she lets go and falls to the floor.

Next, we see a hurt Jules in Martha’s workshop. Knox had already told the police where Jules was when we saw him there. Jules asks everyone to leave because there is not much time left. Then she tells Martha something. Soon, Bernard, Sims, and the hard drive show up at Martha’s place.

Bernard burns the hard drive while Sims takes it from Bernard. Then, Bernard tells Jules to work with him and not tell anyone that she did not want to go outside. In exchange, he tells Jules that he will tell her that George has died. Then, Martha takes the heat tape she made herself, barely gets over her fear of being outside, and takes it to an old colleague in supply, most likely giving it to her.

At the same time, Bernard stops Jules on the floor of the monitoring room (the janitor’s room), takes off her handcuffs, and brings her inside. They then showed her George Wilkins’s file in their system, which made it clear that he chose to kill himself instead of getting caught while he was on the stairs.

This made Jules feel better because she had always thought that someone had killed him. Then, as Jules goes out to clean, members of the Judicial take her measurements for the suit. Pete Nichols, Jules’ father, stops by before she goes to say goodbye. While this is going on, Bernard sends Lucas to work in the mines for ten years.

Back in the cell, Shirley also brings food for Jules, but the food is just a cover for Martha’s message, which says, “You wanted the truth. I love you, that is the truth. Do not worry. They are easy to get.” Sims, who now knows about Billings’ Syndrome, call him in, but he does not fire him because Billings will now be the sheriff when Jules goes out.

Bernard goes to see Jules, and the two of them talk about why Bernard does the things he does. Bernard says that every human life in the Silo has value and that he is just trying to keep the balance. He tells her that she was never meant to be born and that her birth was a mistake that changed everything. He tells her that since she became sheriff, she has been too nosy and has upset the peace of the people in the Silo. He says that if she left, it would be back to normal.

Jules does not like his comparison, and he tells him that killing so many people just to keep the founders’ plans in place is a terrible thing to do. Last but not least, Jules asks Bernard directly why he is being such a coward and not telling people that the display is a lie and that there is a big metal door beyond the down below, which no one knows about. Bernard tells her that the founding fathers left them with a lot of questions that they have to deal with because there is no way to end this conversation. Before he goes, Jules tells him that, unlike everyone else, she will not clean.

After stumbling, Juliette passes out. She realizes that the stunning scenery is simply a hologram and not a real place. She now thinks that the tape is there to protect her after all and is of the utmost importance.

Bernard is concerned as he watches Juliette that she has discovered their lies. He quickly changes the settings in the server room. Juliette’s perspective switches back to the barren wilderness.
