How I Met Your Father Season 2 Ending Explained
Season 2 concluded with four significant changes in relationships: After reconciling, Sophie and Jesse enjoyed an epic mid-hurricane kiss that none of us should ever attempt at home. After Hannah kissed another man and Sid had an emotional affair with another lady for a brief period of time, Sid and Hannah very certainly split up, called off their engagement, or at the very least are taking a break.
Additionally, we saw Val kissing DREW in Pemberton’s supply closet. Before you become very concerned about their relationship, which adult Sophie (Kim Cattrall) referred to as “a disaster,” just know that before the show comes to a close, we are given photographic proof that Valentina and Charlie do, in fact, eventually get back together and have a child who is later given the name Alex. AWW!
How I Met Your Father’s third season would continue to cover the friendships, daily dramas, and romantic endeavors of the friend group. In a perfect world, Jesse and Sophie would try again with their relationship, Sid would get over the heartbreak of the Season 2 finale, Val and Drew would do, uh, whatever it is they’re going to do, and Val and Charlie would finally find each other again.
Oh, and we’d also like to see more intimate Ellen and Charlie storylines in addition to more How I Met Your Mother cameos (obviously!). Charlie and Ellen rock! The unsolved mystery of who fathered Sophie’s son will undoubtedly remain a significant mystery in Season 3, but if ratings are strong and Hulu believes that How I Met Your Father will have the same longevity as How I Met Your Mother or even less, that storyline may be extended further.
