In the beginning, Megan had different career plans. She thought she’d follow in her mother’s footsteps and become an accountant, inspired by her mom’s own career in accounting. Megan even enrolled in college with the intention of studying accounting.
Yet, there was another passion in her life, music, instilled by her father. Music played a significant role, and at the age of 16, her dad taught her how to play the guitar. She also took piano lessons to explore her musical talents further.
Megan’s father occasionally appears on her Instagram page. In the past, they would play their guitars together at home, creating beautiful melodies in their living room or music room.

During college, Megan had a breakthrough moment when she opened for country singer Chase Rice at a sold-out show in Georgia.
It was her debut performance and marked a turning point in her life. She fell in love with music and dreamt of moving to Nashville to pursue it.
However, her parents were initially skeptical and thought her dream was unrealistic. Megan remembered their conversation:
“I was like, ‘Well, I want to drop out of school.’ That’s why I told my parents, and my parents were like, ‘Yeah, that’s not happening.'”
Megan Moroney’s relentless pursuit of music, despite doubts even from her own parents, only fueled her determination to succeed on her own terms.
Over time, Megan’s parents had a change of heart and embraced her passion for music. With unwavering determination, Megan completed her college education and, in 2020, she finally made the move to Nashville to pursue her dream.
According to Megan, one funny thing is that in her mom’s eyes, wearing shirts from rival sports teams is like committing a “sin.”
