Ruschell Boone Weight Loss

Ruschell Boone, a well-known TV reporter, had been losing and gaining weight a lot in her last years. She didn’t know it at the time, but this weight change was a sign of pancreatic cancer.

Recently, the TV station NY1 in New York City shared some very sad news. Ruschell Boone, who was an award-winning reporter and anchor, passed away because of pancreatic cancer.

This news was heartbreaking, but not entirely surprising because she had been fighting pancreatic cancer for a long time. In her last two years, she looked very unwell and sick. You could see this from her weight loss.

If you had been watching Ruschell Boone in her last years, you might have noticed that her weight was going up and down in a way that wasn’t normal for her.

She went from having a fuller figure to being slim without changing her lifestyle. Many people were surprised by how different she looked in her before and after pictures.

Before she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, she started feeling strange discomfort in her stomach in January 2022. She tried using antacids to feel better, but it didn’t help much.

At the same time, she looked bloated and tired, and she was losing weight. Something was off about her weight loss, and she knew it. In June 2022, she had to take a break for intense chemotherapy treatments to fight her cancer.

Did Cancer Make Ruschell Boone Lose Weight?

She felt persistent pain in her upper body, just below her breasts, and on the upper right side of her back. She also noticed her weight going up and down.

At first, she thought changing her lifestyle and diet might help, but when she got diagnosed with cancer, she realized her diet couldn’t fix it.

Ruschell Boone had to take a nine-month break and came back in March 2023, announcing she was cancer-free. She did an interview with Dr. Selwyn Vickers, the head of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she got treated. In the interview, she talked about her weight loss and how it was related to her health.

I was experiencing a lot of the symptoms that a lot of people in stage 4 would experience. I had a stomach pain, I had back pain. I was gaining weight and losing weight eating the same amount of food.

Even though Ruschell Boone seemed healthy and didn’t lose weight as often after her return, it seemed like she had gotten better. But sadly, she later passed away because of problems caused by pancreatic cancer.
