Travis Ruffin Car Accident
On February 25, 2023, Travis Ruffin, a well-known person and the creator of Ruffins Service Center, died at the age of 33. He lost control of his vehicle on Interstate 64 in Wilson, North Carolina while driving while intoxicated.
His mother, Michelle McCoy Jones, broke the news in a sorrowful Facebook message that she uploaded on her profile. She wrote:
“Lord I am wishing and praying that I was having a very bad dream and today everything is normal.”
Ruffin was raised in Wilson, where he also attended Wilson Community College before founding Travis Service Shop, his own company. According to reports, he was well-liked in the neighborhood and was regarded for his goodness of heart and kindness.
How Did the Accident Take Place?
Travis Ruffin’s death was caused in part by drinking and driving too fast. The causes of the collision are the subject of an extensive investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol. Near the crossroads of N.C. 58 and U.S. 264 Alternate, a single-vehicle collision that happened about 4:00 a.m. resulted in a fatality.
Ruffin was traveling over 100 mph in his 2011 Dodge Charger when he lost control of the car. Ruffin was killed after the vehicle rolled over multiple times before hitting a ditch, causing him to be ejected through the sunroof. He had been declared dead when he arrived at the Wilson Medical Center.
