Rudolph Isley, the father of the Isley Brothers, passed away. He was 84. On October 11, the musician died in Illinois. At his house, Rudolph Isley reportedly passed away from a heart attack.
The R&B trio was founded by Rudolph and his brothers Ronald, 82, and O’Kelly in the late 1950s. They achieved enormous popularity with songs including “Twist & Shout,” “This Old Heart of Mine,” and “It’s Your Thing.”

Their younger brothers Ernie and Marvin, as well as Rudolph’s brother-in-law Chris Jasper, joined the group in 1971. In 1989, Rudolph left the band to pursue a career as a priest. Over the years, he has, nonetheless, performed with his previous cast.
“There are no words to express my feelings and the love I have for my brother,” brother Ronald Isley said in a statement. “Our family will miss him. But I know he’s in a better place.”
The Isley Brothers enjoyed long-lasting popularity with songs like “Love The One You’re With,” “Testify,” and “Between the Sheets,” despite the band’s membership changing over time.

Since 1986, Rudolph had not performed with the group. When The Isley Brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, he rejoined the group after leaving the music business in 1989 to pursue a career in Christian preaching.
They won one Grammy in 1970 while the Cincinnati native was still a member of The Isley Brothers for the well-known hit song “It’s Your Thing” from their 1969 album “It’s Our Thing.”
More recently, according to Billboard, Rudolph and Ronald had been involved in legal procedures since March over a trademark dispute over ownership of the band’s name.
