On February 8, 1989, in Foley, Alabama, Quintorris Lopez Jones Jr. was given the name Julio Jones. When he was five years old, his father abandoned the family, leaving his mother Queen Marvin to raise him and his brother.
Jones attended Foley High School as a teenager and played wide receiver and defensive end for the football team there. During this period, he had remarkable success, completing 75 passes for 1,306 yards and 16 touchdowns in his junior year.
