We announce with heavy hearts and great grief that Ronald Lawayne Caldwell, Jr. passed away on October 12, 2023, after a long illness. He never wavered in his strength or resolve in the face of adversity, making a lasting impression on everyone he had the honor of knowing.
On October 12, Caldwell, a junior from Cedar Park, Texas, was fatally shot. The inquiry into his death is still ongoing with the Natchitoches Police Department.

Blanche Bradley and Ronald Caldwell, Sr. were the parents of Ronnie. At Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, he was a junior. The Elgin Funeral Home will host a viewing on Friday, October 20th from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM for family and friends.
On Saturday, October 21st at 2:00 PM, Olivet Baptist Church will have a Celebration of Life. Reverend Edward Fleming will preside and Reverend D. W. Townsend will provide the eulogist. Then there will be an afterlife at Austin, Texas’s Evergreen Cemetery.
Ron was a kind and devout young guy who deeply loved and feared the Lord. As he developed into an adult, he planted numerous seeds in and with his family, church, and communities.

Ronald’s father, Ronald Caldwell Sr., mother, Blanche Bradley, brother, Alfred Carter, sisters, Rhonda, Breonna, Khonni, and Khrii Caldwell, bonus brother, Allen Bonner, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and large circle of other family members and friends, including his teammates and the Winn’s Memorial Church family, will all always cherish his beautiful life.
