John Dickerson, an American journalist and news anchor, was born in the United States and has been a resident of CBS since 2009. His father is a film producer and journalist. John began his career as an analyst and contributor before being appointed senior political analyst for the network in 2019.

John Dickerson, a CBS News reporter, was born on July 6, 1968. John was born in Washington, DC, but raised in McLean, Virginia. John attended Sidwell Friends School and graduated in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in English. John went on to work for Time Magazine for twelve years, the last four of those years being spent as a White House correspondent covering politics.
In 2006, the book On Her Trail—which is about his mother, television news anchor Nancy Dickerson Whitehead—was released. John served as Face the Nation’s host three times in 2009. He was appointed Political Director of CBS News in November 2011.
John was back on Face the Nation on June 7, 2015, but this time he was hosting in a more permanent role. He was selected as a co-anchor for CBS This Morning on January 21, 2018.

John Dickerson, the anchor for CBS, has been married to his wife Anne Dickerson for more than twenty years. Anne Dickerson is a Knoxville, Tennessee native who graduated from the University of Virginia as an Echols Scholar in 1991.
She joined A-Pix Entertainment as the head of business affairs not long after graduation. The video distributor that is no longer in operation was a division of Unapix Entertainment, which voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection back in 2000.
John and Anne both attended the same college and in 1995 they were married. The 15 Minutes Group is a communications coaching company that “specializes in helping people with complex ideas and projects to improve their communication skills.”
Anne is the founder and CEO of the company. She prides herself on devoting herself to her craft and has conducted hundreds of interesting interviews for “National Geographic to network news to HGTV” on a variety of subjects.
On the less serious side, Anne has a lifelong affection for rescue dogs, and she is fervent about adolescent moms attending college, according to the firm’s website.
John often updates his Instagram account with pictures of his wife and their two kids, Nancy and Brice. John posted a picture of himself and Anne on their 28th anniversary to Instagram on September 2023.
