The Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi has gained attention for both his public connection with his ex-girlfriend Paige Turley and his beautiful songs. Not insignificantly, Turley’s claim to fame as the 2020 winner of the widely watched reality TV series “Love Island” generated interest in their romance.
Social media was frequently used to convey the couple’s happy moments as their relationship attracted attention from the public. But soon, much like many famous relationships, it came to an end. This introduction explores the public’s preoccupation with Lewis Capaldi’s former romance and its connections to music and reality television.
Lewis Capaldi Ex Girlfriend
Paige Turley, the ex-girlfriend of Lewis Capaldi, has won Love Island 2020. Songs from Lewis’s number one album are rumored to have been inspired by the 22-year-old former Britain’s Got Talent performer.
Lewis and Paige appear to have spent a significant amount of time together before either of them became well-known. When they were merely 18-year-old students at Motherwell College in Motherwell, Scotland, back in 2015, they were a couple.
Lewis provided followers with a little look into his time with Paige in a post that he has since removed. “I met a lady. She was very nice. I loved her. I loved the look of her and I loved how she spoke,” he wrote in the aforementioned post. “We dated for a year-and-a-half, then she left me. Then I wrote an album about it and I still think about it every day.”
Lewis provided further more background on his time with Paige in a lengthy 2020 interview with The Independent. Even the claims that his popular song “Someone You Loved” was inspired by her were addressed by him.
“Everyone thinks ‘Someone You Loved’ is about Paige, it’s actually ‘Bruises,’ and a bunch of other songs on the album that are about [Paige],” he said at the time. He responded, “But ‘Someone You Loved’ is about my grandma.”
Lewis stated that he and Paige were still very good friends in that same interview. In fact, he stated that it doesn’t bother him whether she discusses him or their relationship in public. “This sounds very crass, but when you go out with a singer they can write songs about you and make money from that. So she’s got every right to talk about it, too,” he said.
