On January 19, 1985, Cheryl Scott was born in New Jersey, USA. She has two older brothers, Kevin Scott and Brian Scott, and is the daughter of Marie Picciano Scott. She was raised in Atco, New Jersey’s Camden County.

Growing up, she was interested in science. Cheryl attended Haddon Township, Camden County’s Paul VI High School, a private Catholic high school, following her graduation from primary school. She was an avid sports fan and a Philadelphia Eagles supporter.

She participated in the track and field program at her high school and played soccer as well. When Cheryl was in high school, she ran really quickly. Several university recruiters were drawn to her because of her track and field prowess.

She enrolled at Providence, Rhode Island’s Brown University, a private Ivy League research university, after graduating from high school. The individual obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Science from Brown University in 2007. Cheryl Scott then enrolled at Mississippi State University, where she graduated in 2010 with a certification in meteorology.

Professional Career

Cheryl worked as an intern at WCAU-NBC 10 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before earning her certification in meteorology. She started working as a weekend weathercaster at WSEE-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania, in 2007 after receiving her degree.

She also forecasted for the Caribbean Weather Channel, which runs 24 hours a day. Following her certification in meteorology, Cheryl Scott relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee. She was hired by WBIR-TV, an NBC affiliate, as a weekend meteorologist.

While Scott was on the air in April 2011, multiple tornadoes decimated Knoxville. At this time, Scott was commended by the public for keeping them informed about the storm’s progress. She developed into a vital informational resource that kept countless safe.

After the tragedy, Cheryl also volunteered for the Red Cross. Cheryl moved to Chicago from Knoxville in September 2011. She started working as the weekend and morning meteorologist for NBC 5 in Chicago.

She spent three years as an employee at NBC 5. Cheryl Scott began working for ABC7 Eyewitness News in Chicago in December 2014. Since then, she has been employed by ABC7 Eyewitness News.
