In 1967, he also established his own clothing manufacturing company, simply known as “Nygard.” They started out making sportswear. In 1978, the corporation moved into the United States.

Nygard fiercely rejected the allegations, claiming they were the result of a smear campaign paid for and directed by his Bahamian neighbor, hedge fund millionaire Louis Bacon, with whom he had a decades-long animosity.
He would fly in women from all around the world for extravagant parties. He travels with an entourage of women who identify themselves as “paid girlfriends.”
According to the same investigation, Nygard’s staff kept a list of around 700 ladies on hand who might be invited to parties at any time.
