World Series of Poker
Ivey initially played in the World Series of Poker in 2000. He was an instant hit, winning his first bracelet in Pot Limit Omaha that year, and became the first player to defeat Amarillo Slim head-to-head at a final table.
Two years later, Ivey tied the record for most World Series tournament victories in a single year when he won three bracelets. That was Ivey’s best year ever. In 2005, he won $635,603 in Pot Limit Omaha, earning him his next bracelet.
In 2009, Ivey won two additional bracelets after taking down 376 players in the Omaha Hi/Lo / 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo event and 147 players in the $2,500 No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball event.
