Russell Wilson’s romantic history is intriguing. The quarterback for the Denver Broncos is currently wed to pop sensation Ciara, but he was previously married to another person. He and his long-term partner, Ashton Meem, were married for two years until they chose to divorce.
For the fans, Wilson and Meem’s story was heartbreaking. The actual cause of the divorce is still unknown, though. Fans also find it incomprehensible that Wilson, who was in the throes of success and such a happy spouse, would divorce so quickly. The first marriage between Wilson and Meem took place in 2012. Wilson’s ascent to fame coincided with a picture-perfect marriage that could have rivaled Brady and Gisele’s. A few weeks after their wedding, the quarterback signed an incredible contract worth over $3 million with the Seattle Seahawks. It appeared as though everything was ideal.

Rumor had it that Golden Tate, Meem’s former Seattle Seahawks teammate, had cheated on Wilson. It seems that Tate and Percy Harvin had also engaged in physical combat. Interestingly, neither Meem nor Wilson have disputed these claims. Elise Pollard, Tate’s girlfriend, was the only one to speak out against these claims. Wilson and Meem’s marriage was sadly over. A love story that had started so romantically had such a depressing ending.

The Meem and Wilson Narrative
Meem and Wilson experienced a heartbreaking divorce, but their journey started off fairly nicely. The pair first connected throughout their time in high school. Soon after, they started dating, and they kept it up throughout college, even trying to maintain a long-distance romance. Meem even went so far as to change institutions so that he could attend Wilson’s college.
Eventually, in January 2012, they tied the knot, but their marriage dissolved in 2014. Oddly, Wilson and Meem have never discussed the reasons behind their divorce to this day. Nevertheless, Wilson finally moved on and met Ciara. He and Ciara married in 2016 and now have a wonderful family.
Did Wilson and Meem Have Any Children Together?
The ex-couple never had children throughout their marriage. Wilson’s first child was not born until his second marriage to Ciara. The couple has three children.
Their first kid and daughter, Sienna Princess, was born on April 29, 2017, and their second child and son, Win Harrison Wilson, was born on July 23, 2020. Their third child was born on . Ciara took to Instagram on August 8, 2023, to broadcast a video indicating that she is pregnant again.
