Richard Lewis Cause of Death
Richard Lewis, who was known for his role in “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” has passed away, confirmed by TMZ. He was an actor and comedian who worked with Larry David on his popular HBO series and died on Tuesday night. Bette Midler was one of the first to mention his death on Wednesday, saying, “On a sad note, the great Richard Lewis has died.”
His spokesperson said he died of a heart attack at his home in Los Angeles. This news is surprising for his fans, especially since he had been dealing with Parkinson’s disease, which he revealed last year.
Richard had thought about retiring from comedy before because of health problems, and then he got diagnosed with Parkinson’s. He mentioned he was managing it with medication and seemed to be doing okay, even continuing his role on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” without it affecting his performance too much.
The great Richard Lewis has died.
Many will rightfully talk about his comedy. But to me, Lewis was a recovery hero. He was “near death” from alcoholism before turning his life around and getting sober in 1994. Lewis lived with a lot of pain, but he died sober. #RIPRichardLewis pic.twitter.com/x5UGH1yjyJ

It’s not known if his Parkinson’s had anything to do with his death. Richard played a big part in “Curb Your Enthusiasm” from the start, acting as Larry’s friend who he often argued with. Richard was also well-known in comedy.
The last time he was seen publicly was with his wife, Joyce Lapinsky, who was helping him walk in Beverly Hills. He leaves behind his wife and was 76 years old.
