She added, “Monday, April 3rd,
“I performed on stage for 2000 people while having a miscarriage,” she wrote. “I knew it was happening. It started slowly the night before. If it had been our first loss or even our second, I likely wouldn’t have been able to go on. But unfortunately, I am not a stranger to the pain and emptiness of losing a pregnancy.”

Benanti, who had previously experienced a miscarriage, wrote an editorial for the Huffington Post in 2015 about the stigma associated with women talking about miscarriage and referred to it as the Voldemort of women’s difficulties.
Benanti added in her Instagram post, “It is a journey I have walked before, hand in hand with my spouse.” But this time, we did so with some of the kindest and most compassionate people I have ever had the privilege of being around.
