Zack Snyder’s upcoming blockbuster for Netflix is taking form. Snyder is currently one of Netflix’s most popular directors after working for a long time at DC, where he made the zombie apocalypse picture Army of the Dead. He’s planning to make two big films out of the science fiction fantasy epic Rebel Moon, with possible spinoffs.
In 2021, when the film Army of the Dead was released, it quickly became a user favorite and ultimately took home the Oscar for Best Fan Film. Already one prequel film, Army of Thieves, and an anime-style spinoff series, Lost Vegas, have been created from the heist picture. Planet of the Dead 2 is also in production.
We should expect Rebel Moon to follow in the same vein as Snyder’s other Netflix efforts. New cast members and plot elements have been released, despite Netflix’s initial announcement of the cast months ago. All the information we have about the movie is included below.

Rebel Moon Splits into Two Epic Parts
The new exclusive first look from Vanity Fair claims that once Zack Snyder turned in the script—which ran 172 pages long—Netflix realized they would have a three-hour movie and chose against making it.

Instead of telling Snyder to cut it down, he proposed splitting the movie in two. His next epic will now span two films, with each receiving a “Snyder Cut,” a word made famous by the re-releases of Batman v. Superman and Justice League, thanks to the director’s devoted fan base.
Rebel Moon Cast Announcement
Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Charlie Hunnam, Ray Risher, Rupert Friend, and Stuart Martin are among the actors already revealed for Rebel Moon, which also stars Sofia Boutella. The Hollywood Reporter states that Michiel Huisman, Alfonso Herrera, Cary Elwes, and Corey Stoll have all joined the cast.

A despotic regent named Belisarius and his army threaten a peaceful colony on the outskirts of the galaxy. In an act of desperation, the colonists send a young woman (Boutella) with a murky history in search of warriors from nearby planets to assist them put up a fight.
Rebel Moon Release Date
Rebel Moon finally has a release date, but it’s still a long way off. Netflix said that the movie will come out on December 22, 2023.

Is There a Trailer for Rebel Moon?
The Rebel Moon trailer has not yet been released. Not until a few months before the film’s release date will we see a trailer. However, once filming begins later this year, Netflix is likely to release some photographs from the set as well as teases and first peeks.
