On Wednesday night, a hailstorm showered down on concertgoers at Red Rocks. Just before 9:30 p.m., large hail stones pelted concertgoers, hospitalizing seven people. Prior to Louis Tomlinson taking the stage, the event had to be called off.

“It started like an instant. They gave us a warning and then it just started immediately,” Olivia Santangelo told CBS Colorado.

Seven people were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to West Metro Fire, who arrived at the site. Up to 90 individuals received medical attention at Red Rocks for injuries ranging from fractures to cuts.

While the environment was hectic, Santangelo claims that everyone came together to support one another, saying, “It was very supportive, it was such a supportive environment.”

Louis Tomlinson, a singer/songwriter, was scheduled to play on Wednesday, but the weather prevented the main event from happening. He described himself as “devastated” in a tweet afterward.

“Devastated about the show tonight, hope everyone’s ok, I’ll be back! Even though we didn’t play the show I felt all of your passion! Sending you all love!” the former member of One Direction wrote.

Prior to the brunt of the bad rain, Red Rocks tweeted that they were experiencing a weather delay and advised attendees to “seek shelter until further notice.”

The location also sent healing thoughts to those hurt on Thursday. On Wednesday night, severe weather also affected other areas of the Denver metropolitan region. The Colorado Rapids game in Commerce City was postponed.
