Jennifer Lawrence Addresses Miley Cyrus Cheating Rumors
In The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence may have had a brief affair with Liam Hemsworth, but off-screen, she wasn’t messing around. The No Hard Feelings actress officially addressed rumors that she and Hemsworth had an affair while the actor was still dating Miley Cyrus during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Monday (June 26).
In a game of “Plead the Fifth” on the talk show, host Andy Cohen asked Lawrence straightaway if there was any truth to rumors that Cyrus subtly disparaged her earlier this year by wearing a figure-hugging gold dress, similar to one the actress wore at a Hunger Games red carpet premiere in 2012, in the “Flowers” music video.
Some fans interpreted Cyrus’ expression as a dig at Lawrence for having an affair with the singer’s ex-husband. To say the least, Lawrence interrupted Cohen before he had even finished his inquiry to react, declining to plead the fifth.
The former co-star of the movie Don’t Look Up earlier hinted that she and Hemsworth had shared a kiss behind closed doors, which some fans at the time interpreted as “proof” the two costars had an affair. Lawrence reiterated to Cohen on Monday night that there was no connection between their kiss and Hemsworth’s on-again, off-again relationship with Cyrus.

Lawrence, who is now married and has a son with the director of an art gallery Cooke Maroney, added, “I mean, we all know that me and Liam, like, kissed one time. But it had been years since their breakup.”
While it’s possible that the gold dress was simply that, a gold dress, there is a strong argument to be made that Cyrus was disparaging Hemsworth with “Flowers.” For instance, the star of Last Song’s chart-topping song was 33 when it was not so gently released on the Billboard Hot 100.
