Lucas Glover is Still Married

The American golfer Lucas Glover is still wed to his wife Krista Glover despite having a rough personal life. After being married in 2012, the couple has been together ever since.

They have, however, seen both highs and lows. Due to allegations of domestic violence against her husband Lucas and his mother, Krista was taken into custody in 2018. During the 2018 Players Championship, Lucas allegedly played a round of 78, which enraged his wife, who attacked him.

The police report states that the golfer’s mother and himself appeared injured. Later, Glover described it as a personal situation and sent a message to his Twitter feed.

“On May 12, my wife and mother were involved in an argument to which the police were called. Everyone is fine. Regrettably, although Krista was charged, we are comfortable that the judicial system is able to address what actually happened and Krista will be cleared in this private matter. We thank you for respecting our privacy as we work through this unfortunate situation,” he wrote.

Under a deferred prosecution agreement, Krista Glover consented to a 12-month probationary period of 25 hours of community service. A few months after the incident, Glover addressed the media and alleged that the police reports were unreliable. The Golf Channel quoted him as saying the following:

“I can now say she never hit me. I don’t know why it was reported that way. We had to stay quiet until the case was over and we felt strongly this would be the result. We had to take the high road and say nothing, which was difficult. There were a lot of things we wanted to straighten out in the report but we couldn’t.”

It’s not the two-year PGA Tour exemption that Glover, who earned it after winning the 2021 John Deere Classic, will gladly utilize in the final year of his previous winner’s exemption.

After an absence of a year, Glover will return to Augusta National in April, but not for the Masters spot.

Not the leap from No. 112 to No. 49 in FedExCup points, which not only qualifies Glover for next week’s playoff opener in Memphis but also puts him in a position to advance to the 50-man BMW Championship, a ticket this year that will also include spots in all of the marquee events next season.

No, one benefit excites the 43-year-old Glover, a father of two school-age children. It’s a result of the prizes listed above, but Glover will spend more time with his children.

“I don’t get to see these guys as much as I’ve wanted to because I haven’t been playing that great,” Glover told CBS Sports’ Amanda Renner following Sunday’s victory at Sedgefield Country Club. “Maybe I can see more practices and more games and be home a little more. I’m too old to be on the road this much. I’ve been busting my hump, so I can be with them, and be with my wife, and I’m so happy.”

Daughter Lucille and son Lucas Jr., Glover’s children, were in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Sunday to witness their father win the sixth PGA Tour championship of his career. Lucas Jr. kept shouting, “Daddy, you won!” while Lucille rushed to the green and hugged Glover in tears. By the time his interview was complete, Glover was crying as well.

After spending the last six weeks on the road competing for a playoff spot, Daddy will undoubtedly spend more time at home, especially come fall. Memphis, though, is first.
