What Happened at the End of Hacks Season 2?

In Season 2 of Hacks, Deborah and Ava on a cross-country road trip while she worked on her new act in an effort to land a new residency in Las Vegas.

Of course, there were hiccups along the way, particularly after Deborah decided to sue Ava for defamation and kept her confined to the tour bus (in a playful, purposeful way that tormented her purpose) after Ava admitted to sending that email full of unflattering anecdotes about her boss to a group of TV producers.

Things seem bleak as Deborah’s performance keeps failing, but after she steps away from the stage and spends a fun night with a much younger man (played by Devon Sawa), her act finally starts to click.

Deborah sets her eyes on something far bigger: a comedy special—instead of utilizing it to obtain a Las Vegas residency. When no networks appear interested, Deborah takes a chance on herself and produces it independently while also selling it straight to her biggest fanbase: QVC viewers.

The program performs amazingly well, and now every network wants to air it. It’s a big triumph for Deborah and Ava, who are both receiving numerous job offers as a result. When Deborah realized this and realized that Ava would remain with her for the long run, she fired her and dropped the lawsuit, thereby letting Ava go in every way.
