Joe Locke Biography
On September 24th, 2003, Joseph William Locke entered the world. He spent his childhood in Douglas on the Isle of Man. He received his secondary education at Ballakermeen High. In April of 2022, he mentioned on ITV’s This Morning that he was preparing for A-Level examinations in the subjects of English, history, and politics.
Locke and three of his classmates presented a petition to the Isle of Man government when they were in high school, requesting that they study whether or not it would be possible to provide sanctuary to Syrian refugees.
Joe Locke Career
Locke took part in productions at the Gaiety Theatre and with the young group of the Kensington Art Centre in addition to participating in the 2020 National Theatre Connections program.
It was revealed in April 2021 that Locke would make his debut on television as the lead character Charlie Spring in the 2022 Netflix coming-of-age series Heartstopper. The series is an adaptation of the webcomic and graphic novel of the same name written by Alice Oseman.
Through an open casting call, there were potentially 10,000 other actors who might have played the role, but he was the one who got the part. Locke, who was 17 years old at the time of filming, plays a student in an English boys’ grammar school who is 14 or 15 years old in the role.
