Erin Napier Suffers Panic Attacks
Erin Napier speaks frankly about her mental health issues nearly a decade after her long struggle with an undisclosed illness.
The 36-year-old HGTV star shared an open update on her health on Instagram. The Home Town actress captioned the photo, “This time of year, I feel the anniversary of illness so acutely. These hospital photos were taken in 2014, at the end of my 10 year illness from (unknowingly) a perforated appendix.”
The post included two images of the actress with her family in the hospital, as well as two pages of excerpts from the book she and her husband/co-star Ben Napier penned many years ago. “For a long time, I thought I had put that all to bed with that final surgery, and I wrote about that decade in our book, Make Something Good Today.”

Although she claims that her “appendix has been gone along with the physical suffering for 8 years now” the actress stated, “I’ve been learning through conversation with my friend who is a therapist that it left some deep ruts in my neuro pathways that have left me with an extreme fear and preoccupation with sickness, nausea in particular, ever since.”
Erin Napier Experienced Throat Surgery
In May 2022, Erin Napier revealed on social media that she had been admitted to the hospital for surgery. She took a selfie with Rodney and captioned it, “Staying tonight in the hospital after a throat procedure, and feeling so cared for by an old friend,” and shared it on Instagram.

She added that she knew one of the hospital employees through a familial connection. Napier avoided revealing her throat troubles in this post, and it wasn’t until January 2023 that she did so in depth.

What Illness Does Erin Napier Have in 2023?
Erin Napier had been reported to be in good health as of September 2023. She’d been suffering from symptoms of a perforated appendix since 2004.
