Although it didn’t win the Best Opening Sequence award, losing to Jujutsu Kaisen’s “Where Our Blue Is,” “Idol” still emerged as the champion, winning over audiences everywhere
Idol: A Chart-Topping Sensation
“Idol” was the opening song for the first season of the Oshi No Ko series, starting in April 2023.
The song quickly became more popular than the anime, reaching the top of music charts and gaining lots of praise.
It became a hit worldwide, ranking among the top 100 most-played songs on YouTube and ruling the Spotify charts.

Idol Faces Strong Opponents in Crunchyroll Awards Showdown
“Idol” had tough competition in the Best Anime Song category, going up against songs like “KICK BACK” from Chainsaw Man and “Seisyun Complex” from BOCCHI THE ROCK!.
But it came out on top, beating even “Where Our Blue Is” from Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, which had won in a different category before.
