Wind Breaker Anime Premiere Date Revealed

The Wind Breaker anime series is set to premiere on Friday, April 5, 2024.

This exciting news was revealed through a main promotional video released on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Alongside the video, a new key visual was unveiled, showcasing additional cast members and the opening and ending theme songs for the series.

Early Screening Event

Prior to its official release, the Wind Breaker anime will be screened early on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the Shinjuku Wald 9 movie theater in Tokyo, Japan.

Cast members are confirmed to attend this special event. Information on obtaining tickets for the screening is yet to be announced.

Background and Manga Adaptation

The Wind Breaker anime is based on the original manga series of the same name by author and illustrator Satoru Nii.

The manga first premiered on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app in January 2021 and has been serialized since then.

Cast Members

Joining the cast are notable voice actors such as Kengo Kawanishi, Toshiyuki Toyonaga, and Ikumi Hasegawa, known for their roles in popular anime series like Demon Slayer and Bungo Stray Dogs.

Creative Team

The anime is directed by Toshifumi Akai at CloverWorks studios, with series composition by Hiroshi Seko.

Taishi Kawakami handles character design, and Ryo Takahashi composes the music.

Theme Songs

The opening theme song, titled “Zettai Reido” (Absolute Zero), will be performed by natori, while the ending theme song, “Muteki” (Unbeatable), will be performed by Young Kee.

Manga Publication

The Wind Breaker manga is licensed for English distribution by Kodansha USA Publishing, with digital releases starting in Spring 2022 and print editions following suit.

As of now, four out of the 13 English volumes have been released in print, with the 16th volume set to release in Japanese on Friday, March 8, 2024.
