Comedian and radio personality Rickey Smiley has shared funeral preparations for his oldest son Brandon’s homegoing service a few days after breaking the news of his death. Brandon Smiley passed away on Sunday at the age of 32, according to his father’s Instagram post.
In the description of a video he shared on Instagram, Rickey Smiley wrote, “I lost my oldest son #BrandonSmiley this morning.” Please pray for my son’s daughter Storm, his brothers, and his mother Brenda; I’m okay. There was no immediate report of a cause of death.
Brandon Smiley, a stand-up comedian in his own right, appeared on the TV One reality program “Rickey Smiley For Real.”
One day after Rickey Smiley returned to his self-titled morning show and discussed his current situation, his challenges with processing, and all the good memories he treasures, the news of Brandon Smiley’s funeral was announced on Thursday.

On Saturday, it will take place in Birmingham, Alabama, where Brandon used to reside. It will also take place in the First Baptist Church of Kingston at noon local time, or 1 p.m. EST. The ceremony’s officiant was announced as Pastor T.N. Miller of First Baptist Kingston Church.
Following a public viewing on Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. local time, the funeral will take place on Saturday. Brandon will be buried at Birmingham’s Forest Hill Cemetery after the ceremony. For those who want to pay their respects but are unable to attend the funeral in person, it is anticipated that it will be streamed live online.
