Opinion: Is Gizelle Bryant Really the Bad Guy on ‘RHOP’?
When you tune into “Real Housewives of Potomac,” you all love to talk about Gizelle Bryant.
Some say she acts like a “mean girl,” especially towards Candiace Dillard Bassett. But let’s take a step back and think about this. Are we being fair to Gizelle, or is there more to the story?
Reality TV shows like “Real Housewives” are all about drama. We only see bits and pieces of what really happens, and those bits are picked to give us the most excitement and shock. So when we see Gizelle laughing when Candiace is upset, we might think, “That’s mean!” But we’re not seeing the whole picture. Maybe there’s a good reason she laughed. Or maybe the show made it look worse than it was.
It’s also important to remember that Gizelle isn’t the only one on the show who gets into fights. All the housewives do—it’s part of what the show’s about. So why are people quick to call Gizelle the mean one?
I think sometimes it’s easier to label someone as the “bad guy” because it makes the show more interesting. But real life isn’t that simple. Gizelle, like all of us, probably has many sides to her. On some days, she might say or do the wrong thing, just like we all do. It doesn’t mean she’s mean through and through.
So, should we go easy on Gizelle and try to understand her better? I’m not saying she’s perfect—nobody is. But we should think twice about judging her based only on what we see on the show. There’s always more to the story, and people are often more complicated than they seem on TV.
