One of the longest-running anime series of all time, Bleach, will knock on your doors soon after a long waiting period of eight years. 

Fans are on cloud nine after hearing the delightful news of the renewal of Bleach after the hiatus of eight years. Bleach, an adventure, supernatural Japanese anime series, took the world of anime lovers by storm with its release in October 2004. The anime is based on the manga series of the same name, written by Tite Kubo. The manga series was a great hit as well.

The story revolves around 15 years old Ichigo Kurosaki, a high school student who began an adventure unintentionally. He unknowingly interchanged his position from Rukia Kuchik, a soul reaper who was not fulfilling his responsibilities. First, he denied it, but later accepted the position of Soul Reaper and got the responsibility of saving humans from the evil forces and teaching the souls the way of the afterlife. 

Directed by Noriyuki Abe and produced by Studio Pierrot, the series began its journey on TV Tokyo in October 2004. The series was released in numerous other countries in different languages like Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Tagalog.

 The series got immense love and warmth from the fans and critics. You can see that by its fabulous rating. It got an excellent IMDB rating of 8.1 out of 10 and 7.8 out of 10 on myanimelist. Given the positive response, creators have created 16 successful seasons comprising 366 episodes so far. The sixteenth season concluded in 2012. Since then, the fans have been looking towards the creators for the seventeenth season. Thankfully, the showrunners have paid heed to the fans and renewed the series for the seventeenth installment in March 2020.

The Release date of Bleach Season 17? When will it premiere?

Though the creators have renewed the series, they have not announced the exact release date. There are rumors that season 17 will be released by the end of 2021 based on the trailer. However, the date shown in the trailer is not the release date. It is the date of the exhibition of the series.

We would have got the show by 2021. But due to the global pandemic of Coronavirus, the production of the series gets delayed. Now, we guess that we will get the series somewhere in mid-2022. 

The Cast of Bleach Season 17. Who will be returning?

The showrunners have not unveiled the potential cast of the series. However, from the trailer, we guess the following voice actors will return for the respective role.

We will see the following characters besides the main characters- Xcution, Hollows, Bounts, Wandenreich, and others. There might be the introduction of new characters as well.

The Plot of Bleach Season 17. What will happen next?

As I stated above, the storyline of the upcoming season of the anime series will adapt the final arc of the manga series, Thousand-Year Blood War arc. The arc is the longest in the manga and has a total of 218 chapters. If you wish to know the storyline, you can read the manga from Chapter 480 to 698 as it covers the last arch.

However, you may find the story different from the anime as the creators have infused their creativity. Ultimately you have to wait for the anime series to be truly connected to the anime. 

Season 17 will start from where season 16 concluded. In season 16, We saw that Ichigo Kurosaki lost all his powers and tried hard to get back all his lost powers. Without his powers, he faced hardship in a face-off against Kugo Ginjo. However, ultimately he defeated him with the help of members of the soul society.

Later, the situation got worse with the mysterious disappearance of Hollows. Meanwhile, The Wandenreich, a new group of Quincy, emerged and attacked the people. They were defeated in the war against Shinigami. For the past several years, they were hiding and gathering there to take revenge. 

In season 17, we will see Ichigo Kurosaki’s plan to combat the new threat, The Wandenreich. According to the manga, he will mysteriously disappear to gather his power back to fight against Wandenreich. He will return stronger and powerful. We will witness the ultimate battle.

How many episodes will Bleach 17 have?

The showrunners have not announced the no. of episodes in season 17. The rest of the seasons have 20-25 episodes except season 14. Season 14 has more than 50 episodes. As the upcoming episode will be the longest so far, there will be more than 100 episodes. Yes, Folks!

It is the last season, and creators have to cover the last 200 chapters in a single season. So, we expect that we will get around 100 episodes. Well, the above is just speculation. We will update the article once we get the exact information.
