On Wednesday, human relics were identified in the same place as the personal possessions of Gabby Petito’s fiancé Brian Laundrie, for whom the authorities have been looking for more than a month.

It has been said by Michael McPherson who is the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Tampa office, “Earlier today investigators found what appears to be human remains along with personal items, such as a backpack and notebook, belonging to Brian Laundrie,” adding further he said “These items were found in an area that up until recently had been underwater,”
In a statement made by an attorney for the Laundrie family, Steven Bertolino, the FBI agents, and North Port police were directed by the parents of Laundrie, to the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park where “some articles belonging to Brian were found.”
Further, on Wednesday, in another statement by Bertolino, it has been said “Chris and Roberta Laundrie were at the reserve earlier today when human remains and some of Brian’s possessions were located in an area where they had initially advised law enforcement that Brian maybe,” adding “Chris and Roberta will wait for the forensic identification of the human remains before making any additional comments.”

In a phone interview with CNN on Wednesday night, Bertolino claimed that “the probability is strong that it is Brian’s remains, but we’re going to wait for the forensic results [to] come in and verify that.”

As confirmed by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, A K9 unit and the local examiner who is specially trained to search for the human relic were called upon to the site.
Both the sites to remain closed for the public until investigation continues
McPherson said The Carlton Reserve and nearby Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park are short drives north of the home of the Laundrie family. Portions of both places are supposed to remain shut for the public for the next several days as investigators are examining the place. Adding further said “I know you have a lot of questions, but we don’t have all the answers yet,” while concluding stated, “We’re working diligently to get those answers for you.”
Arrest Warrant for Laundrie
Laundry is identified as a person of interest in the absence of Petito. A warrant for taking him into custody was released following authorities stating he made use of her debit card even without consent.
On 19th September, the body of Petito was found at the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area in Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming; a chief medical examiner ruled her demise a murder by “manual strangulation.” As per the confirmation of the coroner, Petito had already been dead for a minimum of three weeks.

The police said that Petito and Laundrie were on a cross-country road trip, continuously sharing their traveling posts on social media before his returning on 1st September to his parent’s home in North Port leaving out his fiancée.
Laundrie’s parents have kept themselves away from the light and maintained a low profile since then, claiming to investigators that their son left for hiking by the middle of September and never came back, sparking a national manhunt.
