“Oxford Shooting”: Dems Renew Push for Gun-control Bills After Oxford Shooting

Recently a very tragic incident happened in Michigan where the world lost young lives. At Oxford High School in Michigan, there was a mass shooting that killed four, and up till now, it has been reported that eight students were shot.

Helpless students tried to defend themselves with scissors and other things, but there were unfortunate four students who became victims of the deadly incident.

This deadliest shooting incident left the democrats with no choice but to pass the new law which bans the carrying of weapons like guns.

What Happened at Michigan High School?

On Tuesday afternoon, December 1st, one of the deadliest mass shootings took place in Michigan, killing four people. The suspect seems to be a student of the high school. Nearly a fifteen-year-old was armed with a gun.

The incident was quite horrific as it shook the whole country. Parents were trying to approach their children as soon as they got the shooting news. School administrations tried their best to put a hold on shooting, and with a great strategy, the police forces managed to escape all of the students from the danger.

One of the students reported that he was in the classroom when he heard the noise of two shots. After that, his teacher took immediate action by locking the doors. Students were terrified that they grabbed scissors, calculators in case they had to face the shooter.

What Are the Updates About the Victims and the Suspects of the Incident?

The victims include students having ages ranging from 14 to 17 years old. It is pretty heartbreaking as these young lives were cut exceptionally early. Among the victims was 16-year-old Tate Myre, a very passionate football player.

People have started signing petitions to rename the school with Tate Mayers name. Another two victims, both 17 years old were Madisyn Baldwin and Justin Shilling, both of their parents, were heartbroken at the demise of their children.

Then the youngest victim to be dead by shooting is a 14 years old girl named Hana St. Juliana. All of these students just went to study. No one knew that they would be any more just because the 15-year-old decided to bring the gun to school and mercilessly killed them.

The 15-year-old suspect was taken into custody. Many pieces of evidence were found in his personal belongings. One of his journals clearly states his missions and goals regarding the shooting. He has requested the court multiple times that he is not guilty.

How Has the Government Decided to Tackle the Situation?

Following the incident that took place in Michigan taking four precious lives, Dems are taking the new gun-control law under consideration, and they want to renew the new legislation regarding the gun control law.

But some parties still are opposing the implementation of such laws. The GOP leaders have expressed concern that this law should not be imposed immediately, and there should be no strict restrictions. Sen. Rosemary Bayer, a Democrat, said that the government never wanted such incidents to happen in the country.

According to her, they have decided to take action at the very moment, and if anyone who is not willing to put restrictions or oppose any kind of action which has been taken against the culprits is directly supporting these kinds of shootings.

At the beginning of this year, two other mass shootings began the campaign of imposing the gun control law but again, there were some people like the republican- run legislature who opposed the idea; hence no restrictions were put.

And today, we are observing the results of not implementing the gun law as we lost four lives at the hands of a 15-year-old who killed his schoolmate with the gun his father bought illegally four days earlier.

In this year, both republicans and democrats proposed their laws, among which Dems wanted to put the gun law, but the other opposed it. However, both agreed on the same thing related to security funds. A proposal of 10 million dollars was sent to the White House to fund the school so that they may recover from the loss.
