With N.B.C. renewing Dick Wolf’s Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. in 2020 with three-year renewals, the T.V. gods have smiled down upon the One Chicago world. The series will start their respective seasons, 11, 8, and 10, in the upcoming autumn.

Chairman of N.B.C. Entertainment Paul Telegdy remarked at the time, “Dick Wolf has demonstrated time and time again that he creates entertainment fans enjoy. As part of this monumental agreement with Wolf Entertainment, N.B.C.’s devoted fans will know that their favorite shows have a guaranteed future for the following three years.”

Ahead of schedule, A.B.C. announced in January 2022 that the medical drama Grey’s Anatomy would return for season 19.

The show’s creator, Shonda Rhimes, expressed her excitement, saying, “I couldn’t be happier that we get to continue telling the tales of Meredith, Bailey, Richard, and all of the other doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial for another season.”

This is a true monument to [showrunner] Krista Vernoff, the cast, staff, and all the writers who consistently keep the viewers on the edge of their seats. And without the countless amazing fans who have supported Grey’s Anatomy for so long, it would not be possible.

Although the medical drama has been a hit for the network for many years, some were surprised to see it return for season 19, as Ellen Pompeo had previously called for the show to end.

Pompeo, who has played Dr. Meredith Grey since the show’s debut in 2005, told Insider in December 2021, “I’ve been trying to focus on convincing everyone that it should end.” I feel like I’m the incredibly naive person who always asks, “But what’s the story going to be? What story are we going to tell?” Who cares, Ellen? Is the general response. It brings in a gazillion bucks.

After a significant season 3 cliffhanger in January 2022 left fans wanting more, Nancy Drew’s showrunners on the C.W. teased what to anticipate if they got a season 4 pickup when they were still on the verge of being picked up.

Showrunner Noga Landau told Entertainment Weekly in January 2022, “What’s going to be great about season 4 is we’re purposefully returning to our beginnings, putting Nancy back in a graveyard with her beanie and her lantern. And the start of a brand-new mystery that, as a palate-cleaner, ought to resemble the puzzles we faced in seasons 1 and 2.”

“We have our fingers crossed,” said showrunner Melinda Hsu Taylor about a renewal. Nancy Drew was renewed two months after the season 3 finale aired.
