Glass Onion Ending Explained: It is no surprise that Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery has been a big success on Netflix, debuting at the top of the most-watched rankings after its release on December 23. We have all been anticipating the return of Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig).
If you missed the Knives Out sequel during its November limited theatre release, you can now see what devilishly complex case he is looking into this time. In contrast to the previous film, the sequel kept the victim’s identity (or victims) a secret until it was released.
However, just like the original, writer-director Rian Johnson adds additional twists to the case, making it anything but simple. We’re here to assist because there has been so much information made public that it can be challenging to remember who did what and why.
We’ll go into Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery to answer any questions you might have, but if you haven’t seen the movie yet, don’t read any further since there will be significant spoilers. Glass Onion begins with each of our numerous protagonists receiving a present from their friend, the mysterious businessman billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton).
Each character opens the gift, a puzzle box containing an invitation to vacation on his private Greek island, with varied degrees of difficulty.
Benoit Blanc, meanwhile, is experiencing boredom brought on by the lockdown until he also receives the mysterious box. Except for Benoit, everyone gathers at the wharf to board the yacht to Miles’ island, where they are welcomed inside his spectacular residence, the Glass Onion.
Miles invites Benoit into his office, where he admits that he did not invite the renowned detective but is more than pleased to make room for him. Miles is cautioned by Benoit, who tells him that he views Miles’ invitation as a subliminal threat to his life.
All of the characters are present that evening at Miles and Benoit’s inebriated after-dinner party, including politician Claire (Kathryn Hahn), Bron’s head scientist Lionel Toussaint (Leslie Odom Jr.), former supermodel turned fashion designer Birdie Jay (Kate Hudson), her assistant Peg (Jessica Henwick), Twitch streamer and “men’s rights activist” Duke (Dave Bautista
Duke unexpectedly passes away among the revelry. When the electricity goes out, everything becomes chaotic, and Andi is shot dead on the stairs to the house.
Who is Andi in Glass Onion?
When we go back, we learn that Andi has a twin sister named Helen. Helen thinks Miles killed Andi, though she is unsure why, other than that their company was producing a sustainable energy source called Klear, and Andi wasn’t convinced it was ready.
Thus, the unexpected extra invitation was Andi’s. She discovers the box from Miles while cleaning out Andi’s home, breaks it open, and delivers it to Benoit. To protect her, Benoit has Helen wear a bulletproof vest. Benoit persuades Helen to masquerade as Andi and travel to the island so they can determine who killed Andi.
Helen learns that everyone had a reason for killing Andi and defending Miles. Duke needs Miles for his social media presence, as does Whiskey, and Birdie needs him to help her out of a sticky situation with a sweatshop (Peg is the only person who doesn’t need to protect Miles because she believes Birdie’s arrangement will lead to Peg’s downfall as well).
Lionel has greenlit Klear knowing it wasn’t working. So who murdered Andi and Duke? Or is the island home to more than one murderer? However, Benoit eventually realizes it (since he’s Benoit Blanc), so consider this your final spoiler alert.

Glass Onion Ending Explained
Miles murdered Duke and Andi. He killed Duke because Duke observed him leave Andi’s house in his distinctive Porsche, and he killed Andi because she had evidence that he was a fraud (a napkin on which she had written the idea for their business). Duke, who is constantly online, was the first to learn of Andi’s passing and was using this information to threaten Miles into putting him on TV.

Miles’ murderous technique? mostly poison. In his mistaken belief that Helen was the actual Andi who had somehow survived, he also fired at her. But once Miles burns the napkin, Helen is helpless and without evidence.
In retaliation, Helen destroys his possessions (and the others follow suit), but this serves as the catalyst for her to start a fire, which ignites the Klear fuel that powers Miles’ home. Everyone makes it out alive, and despite Miles criticizing Helen for her actions, his other ex-friends agree to testify against him and defend Andi/Helen.
The movie ends with Helen and Benoit contently relaxing on the sand with the Glass Onion blazing in the distance. We are now standing on the verge of Miles’ public demise, but it is unclear where Benoit will go next. But Helen looks much like the Mona Lisa she vandalized in Miles’ house by the time the movie is through, and we believe she is undoubtedly happy.
