Christina Applegate Claims Plastic Surgery Changed Her Look, Not MS

A spiteful commenter’s assertion that plastic surgery altered Christina Applegate’s appearance and not her multiple sclerosis led Christina Applegate to fire back at him. The actor attended the Critics Choice Awards on Jan. 15 with her kids, marking the first significant award show she had participated in since disclosing her MS diagnosis in August 2021.

Due to her performance in “Dead to Me,” Applegate received a nomination for best actress in a comedy series. “Sooooo I made the unfortunate decision to look at some comments on an article from People magazine about me and my kids at the [Critics Choice Awards],” Applegate posted on Twitter. “Of course, I told her that it wasn’t nice. This was her reply. What is wrong with people? By the way, I laughed.”

Applegate included a screenshot of the commenter telling her, “MS didn’t make you look that way. A plastic surgeon did. And you are a scammer and are not [Christina] Applegate.”

The hateful commenter followed up with one more comment: “And a bad plastic surgeon at that.” Thankfully for Applegate, she was able to make light of the circumstance. Applegate attended the most recent public event after being told she had MS were the Critics Choice Awards.

In November, she made her debut in front of the public when she went to her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. At the occasion, Applegate sobbed as she thanked her daughter for helping her cope with her MS diagnosis.

“The most important person in this world is my daughter,” Applegate said. “You are so much more than even you know. You are so beautiful and kind and smart and interesting. I’m blessed every day that I wake up and take you to school… thank you for standing by me through all this.”

Applegate called all her fans in attendance “gorgeous” and added, “Every single one of you. I love you [all] so much.”
