After March 17, 2023, visitors to Universal Studios Japan will be able to participate in temporary interactive Magical Monsters Encounters featuring creatures from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series.
The Hippogriff from “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,” the Niffler from “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” a cute little dragon called a Pygmy Puff, and a young dragon that can breathe smoke will soon be found in Hogsmeade.
“In The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you can really encounter the magical creatures,” said Pierre Bohana, the head prop maker from all eight Harry Potter films and the Fantastic Beast films. “The Hippogriff is so authentic and awe-inspiring to watch its every movement […] the Niffler and Pygmy Puff are so lovely and emotional, you are sure to become friends with them – but take care, or you might get scolded or sulked at – and the baby dragon is adorable because it’s so young, but you never know what they will do, so take the utmost care.”

Meetings with Magical Creatures
There will be magical creatures for visitors to interact with, similar to those encountered by students at Hogwarts. When Harry takes his first Care of Magical Creatures class, he meets a Hippogriff, a haughty creature with the head of an eagle and the body of a horse.
In the new show “Hippogriff Magical Lesson,” students from all four houses of Hogwarts learn how to approach and engage with the haughty beast.
