Netflix has released the first photo of young Lady Agatha Danbury from its upcoming “Bridgerton” prequel series, “Queen Charlotte.”
Agatha, who is played by Arsema Thomas, uses Charlotte’s rise to the throne to get ahead in society, even though she is married to a much older man. Agatha becomes a guide for the new Queen as she finds her own voice and power. She has a good grasp of the once-divided social scene and the complexities of marriage.
“Centered on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton,” says the logline for the limited series.

Queen Charlotte, Lady Agatha Danbury, and Lady Violet Bridgerton will all be played by Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, and Ruth Gemmell, who played those roles in “Bridgerton.” “Line of Duty” star India Amarteifio plays young Queen Charlotte. Princess Augusta is played by Michelle Fairley (“Gangs of London”), and young King George is played by Corey Mylchreest (“The Sandman”).
Sam Clemmett (“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” on West End and Broadway, “The War Below”) rounds out the cast as young Brimsley. He joins Freddie Dennis (“The Nevers”) as Reynolds, Richard Cunningham (“The Witcher”) as Lord Bute, Tunji Kasim (“Nancy Drew”) as Adolphus, Rob Maloney (“Casualty”) as the Royal Doctor, Cyril Nri (“Cucumber”) as Lord Danbury, and “B
Shonda Rhimes runs the show, writes for it, and is in charge of making it. Betsy Beers and Tom Verica both serve as executive producers.
