Travis Kelce is traveling to Studio 8H from the Super Bowl. A championship-winning tight end and a popular Netflix star are among the new Saturday Night Live hosts announced by NBC.
The show airs on March 4 and will be hosted by Kelce, who recently played a key role in the Kansas City Chiefs’ triumph in Super Bowl LVII. Kelsea Ballerini will perform. The March 11 edition will be hosted by Wednesday’s Jenna Ortega and feature 1975 as a musical act.
I, your writer, must now admit that I am incredibly ignorant when it comes to sports, especially football. But Kelce just defeated his older brother, Jason Kelce, in the championship game and is “really good.”

Well done to him! Kelce has also been promoting his appearance on SNL for some time: Heidi Gardner, a cast member of SNL and well-known Kansas City supporter, expressed her desire for Kelce or Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to host the program to Bill Simmons last year.
Kelce tweeted at the time that being an SNL host “would be a dream come true”; his dream is finally coming true! Kelce is not the first athlete to headline Saturday Night Live.
The Studio 8H stage has been frequented by athletes including Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Tom Brady, LeBron James (Twitter), Peyton Manning, and Eli Manning over the years. The most current episode was hosted by J.J. Watt in February 2020.
Ortega will also be hosting SNL for the first time. The actress will next be seen in Scream VI, which opens in theatres on March 10. She most recently acted in Netflix’s breakout hit Wednesday.
You may anticipate at least one sketch to mention her famous Lady Gaga (Instagram) dance. NBC broadcasts Saturday Night Live at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT.
