Amber Rose has a tattoo on her face that reads, “Live your best life.” The 36-year-old model is explaining why she inked her sons’ names, Slash and Bash (short for Sebastian), over her forehead last week.
“I don’t want this to sound corny or anything but kinda after Kobe [Bryant] died, it made me reflect on my life,” she stated on Wednesday’s episode of Fox Soul’s “One on One With Keyshia Cole,” as reported by CNN. I don’t want people to think, “Oh, Kobe died, and you went and got a tattoo,” but that’s kind of how it felt.

She explained that although he is doing fine today, he was very close to death before he went into remission. “You know what, life is so short, just do it. I’ve wanted this tattoo for a long time. Live your best life, period.
Rose has been defending her huge facial tattoo on Instagram this week after receiving some negative feedback. “For the people that are telling me I’m too pretty for a face tat are the same people that would tell me that I’m ‘too pretty’ even if they thought I was ugly and lie to me lol or they would just tell me I’m ugly,” she wrote. “So either way the moral of the story does whatever the f—k you want in life.”
Her partner, the father of 4-month-old Slash Electric Alexander Edwards, Alexander “AE” Edwards, has both of Rose’s kids’ birthdays tattooed in the same area on his forehead.
