Star Citizen 3.18 is the highly anticipated update to the popular space simulation game Star Citizen. The update is set to include new features, bug fixes and content, as well as the long-awaited release of the highly anticipated Persistent Universe. The update has been in development for the past few months and is now finally ready to hit the public.
Alpha 3.18 was supposed to come out late last year, but the release date was pushed back to January 2023. But the developer extended the time for the test server so they could get more feedback from players and fix more bugs before the full release. This caused the delay to get even longer.
With the new update, players can also expect a wipe, which will get rid of all the things they have already bought with in-game currency. But you can still use ships that you bought with real money. The last time there was a wipe in Star Citizen, the developers did give each player a certain amount of in-game currency as compensation, based on how much their things were worth overall.

When Alpha 3.18 comes out, you’ll have full access to Drake Vulture, which will be the first ship in the game designed for hull scraping and salvage, a new way to make in-game money in the universe. Aegis Reclaimer will also be able to salvage in addition to being able to use Vulture. You can also expect some changes to the environment, such as new crash sites in Daymar, new rivers in microTech and Hurston, and new sand caves that you can explore.
Persistent Entity Streaming is the most important technological change in 3.18. It will make it possible for all objects to exist on all servers. So, when the new update comes out, you won’t lose your ships or items when you get kicked off a server. Before, you had to reconnect to the same server you just left to get back the things you were carrying. Now, there will be no loss.
