BTB Savage, an up-and-coming rapper from Atlanta, Georgia, burst onto the music scene with his unique sound and raw lyrics. His music caught on quickly online, and his hit single “Kill or Be Killed” has been played millions of times on different platforms.
Fans of BTB Savage are left wondering what happened to the talented young artist because he seems to have disappeared from the public eye in recent years. In this article, we’ll look at what happened to BTB Savage and try to figure out why he disappeared from the music scene all of a sudden.
What Happened to BTB Savage?
BTB Savage’s mother revealed to ABC13 that her son was killed in a drive-by sh**ting on Thursday in the River Oaks neighborhood. Bernita Ward claimed that she attempted to warn her son and that she thinks that violence and vengeance had a role in his murder. She claimed that she did not know her son from his internet presence.
The Instagram billionaire, BTB Savage, is never mentioned by me, according to Ward.
“I don’t belong to the group of parents who hide their children’s lifestyle.”
His legal name, Darrell Gentry, was all she knew him as. Ward claims that Gentry is most proud of having been a father to her 4-year-old kid and serving in the military for four years. Ward claims her son called her in February, delighted to tell her that he thought he was going to be in a song and that his rapping career was beginning to take off.
However, she claims that a bunch showed up at his San Antonio apartment and attempted to rob him. The rapper earlier this week gave a now-viral interview to VLAD-TV in which he discussed how he and his girlfriend repelled the would-be thief.
The supposed intruder was to be shot, Gentry said in great detail, after giving his lover the order. He claimed that during the questioning he told the suspect, who was asking for assistance,
“I don’t give a (expletive) about you. You’re going to die.”
He responded, “They might do what they do, but I’m going to get involved, and that’s all there is to it,” when the journalist asked if he was worried about revenge. The rapper shared a photo on social media on Thursday while standing in the center of a violent crime scene. He was shot in a drive-by sh**ting in the 2100 block of Mid Lane, according to Houston police hours later. Here you can also check BTB Savage Net Worth.
Ward claimed she advised her son not to continue posting on social media and giving interviews even though he defended himself and did not deserve to die.
Ward remarked,
“I said remove that off social media. They were teasing my son, saying they would kill the family, make his mother cry, and kill his son. I advised him to “don’t answer. Let it go,” but a member of their family showed up to rob my son.
Ward asserts that she is certain that the fatal heist is what caused her son’s death. The lesson of this narrative, according to Ward, is that two women lost two amazing sons and that their children would be reared without fathers. The sad thing is that. Ward, who fought valiantly to keep her kid safe, is now forced to grieve the loss of her son.
Ward added,
“I want to inspire all the youth and end the bloodshed.” The violence that occurs in these streets with these youth is so senseless. Kill your debt, kill the negativity, and don’t murder each other. I am completely aware of who my son is. Stop the violence. Do something different with your life.

Regarding the alleged tragic robbery in February, ABC13 has contacted San Antonio Police and is awaiting a response. According to Houston police, the men accused of sh**ting Gentry were traveling in a black Subaru. According to authorities, the two suspects got out of the car and ran on San Felipe while wearing dark clothing, hoodies, and sunglasses.
Ward said that her son’s apartment had security cameras and that it had been robbed soon after he was slain. She claimed to have given the authorities all videos and expressed confidence in the impending arrest.
